Gochujang is a spicy Korean chili paste that is very concentrated, but also can have sweet and savory notes. I prefer to use it for marinades since it is thick and doesn’t quite have the consistency of a hot sauce. I actually found this sauce at Whole Foods which already has great marinade components in it such as soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. I marinated 1 lb of chicken wings that I also picked up from Whole Foods, with the gochujang sauce and a little bit of honey for about an hour. If you are only able to find the gochujang paste I would add in a little bit of water, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, honey (or agave) and then marinate the chicken wings in that. I grilled the wings for about 15 to 20 minutes and topped them with some sesame seeds and green onions! They were delicious and I will definitely be making them again in the near future!

Serves 2-3 as an appetizer
Ingredients:
1 lb of Chicken Wings (flats and drums)
⅓ cup of Momofuku Spicy Ssam Sauce
1 tbsp of Honey
Sesame Seeds 2 Green Onions
1. Mix ⅓ cup of the gochujang sauce with 2 tbsp of agave. In a plastic bag or medium sized bowl add wings and pour ¾ of the marinade over the wings. Reserve the other ¼ of the marinade to brush on the wings after they have started to cook.
2.Start the grill and heat to a medium to high temperature, about 400 degrees. Clean the grill as you normally would and spray or rub with some oil.
3. Add chicken wings to the grill and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes. Brush on the extra marinade and flip the wings over again. Brush the other side with the remaining marinade and cook for 2 more minutes. The wings should have cooked for about 14 -16 minutes and should be cooked through all the way until they have reached an internal temperature of 165° F.
4. Remove the wings and top with sesame seeds and sliced green onions! Enjoy!
